Rod Alne is not your average boomer. He is a retired 27 year veteran with the Air Force Pararescue team. He and his wife moved to Montana and currently owns The Peak, which specializes in training military special operations teams. He is an avid skier, hiker, ATV and snowmobile rider, and spends a considerable amount of his free time in the great outdoors. He participated in two Eco-Challenge adventure races (Argentina and Alaska), and completed summit climbs on Mt. McKinley, AK (2 times), Mt. Popo, Mexico (3 times), Mt. Blanc, France (5 times), Mt. Rainier, and The Matterhorn in Switzerland. No rocking chairs in his foreseeable future.
Penny Jones is not your average boomer. She joined The Peak in 2015 after moving to Butte to take advantage of all Montana has to offer. She is also an avid outdoors person. Penny also likes to challenge herself physically and especially loves rock climbing, skiing and hiking. She loves to travel, especially if she can “wing it”. She and her husband have traveled in Europe, backpacked in South America, spent six weeks walking 500 miles across northern Spain, a 75 mile trek in the mountains of Colorado and recently did a 150 miles backpacking trip in Portugal. No rocking chairs in her foreseeable future.
